Stirtec GmbH is a leading high-tech company in the field of Friction Stir Welding (FSW), located in Premstätten, Styria (Austria). Stirtec was initially established in 2010 as a spin-off of Graz University of Technology in the Science Park Graz to exploit the commercial potential of the Friction Stir Welding technology for industrial applications. Final Meeting and workshop at Stirtec

The project’s final event took place together with the workshop “Innovations in Friction Stir Welding” from February 26–27, 2025, at the premisses of the coordinator STIRTEC in Graz, Austria.
On the first day, all remaining topics were addressed – ranging from the results of demonstrators (Battery Tray, Shock Tower, B-Pillar, Piston) and process testing to industrialization potential and life cycle analysis.
The second day was dedicated to the workshop, which was attended by over 40 participants in a hybrid format. The programme concluded with a guided tour of the company STIRTEC GmbH.
