The main industrial requirements for the new joining technologies to be developed have been defined.

 

The joining matrix, which includes all materials to be investigated in the various demonstrators (e.g. battery tray for electric vehicles, press-hardened automotive B-pillar to be welded to an Al component), was elaborated in detail.

 

The required individual corrosion strategies required for applying friction stir welding for joining multiple materials and refill friction stir spot welding are also already selected. These first results achieved make it possible to shift up a gear and concentrate in a next steps on the technology development as such.
